The Planting of the Lord

The lot was full of tall grass…it was windy, the unkept overgrowth danced like waves of the ocean… Yet there was this one patch of beauty, in the middle of the winds, and much larger wild weeds.
The weeds that overshadowed didn’t diminish their beauty, they highlighted it. Although surrounded, their unmistakable and intentional presence could be seen far off… as I watched the wind blow, it seemed they were perhaps surrounded by design…. The things that could have choked them and rob their very nutrients, provided shelter from the wind…
The things that surround you, threatening your very life do not have the power to break you, or change who you are.
I saw beauty in the midst of ashes in that parking lot, and I see it in your life. Don’t lose site of it. Remember who you are…
Is 61:3
To grant [consolation and joy] to those who mourn in Zion—to give them an ornament (a garland or diadem) of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, the garment [expressive] of praise instead of a heavy, burdened, and failing
spirit—that they may be called oaks of righteousness [lofty, strong, and magnificent, distinguished for uprightness, justice, and right standing with God], the planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.
